Stop Motion- Finally complete.

Here it is! It's uploaded on my friend's account, not mine, but that's okay.
Watch in high quality. (If your computer can handle it :P)

Post-Interview

My interview went pretty well. From what I was told though, it seems like I was a very late interview. I was told that most of the team had already been assigned. The pay is excellent though. It's a base pay of $10/hour, and you're evaluated every two weeks. If your sales are good, your pay is upped. It's a great amount of money.

Basically, if I end up getting the job (and that's a giant IF), I'll be working the rope ladder booth. I'm sure you've seen it. It's the one where the customer attempts to scamper up a rope ladder, and ring a bell at the top. Usually, they end up falling over.

My interviewer says that I would learn the ropes (pun intended), during the training, if I got the job.

I was supposed to get a call this weekend. "No call, no job", he said. And I didn't get a call.

Resigned to the fact that I hadn't gotten the job, (but not overly disappointed- it's a lot of work, after all), I got an email early this morning.

Apparently, there's still more interviews to come. I'm still under consideration, despite the lack of a call.

Oh well. We'll see.
I'll get it, or I won't.

Wonderland!

I have an interview at Canada's Wonderland tommorow. I'm surprised I'm eligible, considering my age, but I'm sure I'll win them over :)

I'm interviewing for GAC, a sub contractor at Wonderland. They run the game booths, and do other setup/consulting tasks. I'm a bit wary, but they look pretty official. There's a GAC office inside Wonderland, so I'm sure it's not that shifty. I'm interviewing with the GAC site manager tomorrow.

I hear bad things about working at Wonderland, a major complaint usually being the heat. I'm sure it won't be the greatest job in the world, but it's a way to earn some cash.

I'm nervous, but excited. I could really make use of some extra coin :)

CN Tower- Rankings

The time ranking for the climb was released today.
I was 379/4189 overall, and 338/1826 for men.

For some reason, my result is wrong/absent. I searched my registration (which should be unique to me), and it was someone else's name. Oh well. I just used my time to determine my ranking. It was probably a typo, or reading error by the people inputting the data.

16:38- CN Tower Climb

I woke up at 4:45 this morning to get ready. We were down at the CN tower by 6, but the line up was still crazy long. There was probably close to five hundred people ahead of us.

I made the climb at 7:13. I was nervous, but excited nevertheless. I finished at 7:29. I was probably the one most shocked by my own time.

16:38 is pretty fast. I didn't see too many runners who did it faster. Considering I didn't train, I was pleasantly surprised.

The climb felt much longer than it was. I was extremely tired after 40 flights, but there were still another 104 to go, so I pressed on. I passed a lot of people, and there were quite a few sitting/resting on the landings.

The paramedics seemed unhappy to be there. Most were playing on iPhones (does Toronto EMS really issue these things?), while others were reading books. My friend who I climbed with, beat me by thirty seconds. I still maintain that it was less because I waited for him after I got my time stamp :)

I'm sure I'll pay the price tommorow. I'm already feeling sore, and I'm dead tired.

Thank you to all who generously donated. I ended up with a total of $150 to a great cause.

Stop Motion- A work in progress.

Here it is. It's about 60 percent done, but I was too excited to share.

Come back in a week. It'll be done then.
A better version is coming :)

So far, this is over 1000 photos, and about ~10 hours of work.

ISO

I just discovered ISO.
Woah.

It's pretty broad and wide reaching. If you don't know what it is, go check it out.

I've seen it around before, but never knew how big it was.

Newspaper Classifieds: Missing People

I glanced through the Star classifieds today, and I noticed the "missing people" sections. I've stumbled across it before, but never really thought about it.

There were sections for lost parents, lost friends, and other lost people.

There were only a few ads, but I'm sure every one of them had an interesting story behind them.

Just something to think about.

Stop Motion

We're doing an awesome project in class. We have to create a stop motion film, without the use of a video camera. Esentially, it's a film comprised of still images moving at high speeds, kind of like a flip book.

A famous (at least, on Youtube) example is Tony VS Paul. Watch this, then keep reading :)

I'm working in a group, and we're thinking of shooting a scene with a man in a chair, sipping a coffee cup. But we're going to carry a collapsible chair with us around the city, and have the background change.

As he raises the coffee cup slowly, he'll suddenly be in front of the CN Tower, then the harbour front, and then in the beaches.

It's gonna be awesome. :)

DECAAAA!

I am the co-president of the Vaughan DECA chapter next year.
Apologies if I sound pretentious :), but I'm pretty sure this is precedent setting. I'm the first ever tenth-grade president in DECA Vaughan history.

It's gonna look great on my resume, and I never have to interview for DECA Executive again. Anyways,it's going to be quite the ride!

I'm slightly concerned that my contact with administration is going to increase exponentially, but I'm sure it'll grow on me. Also, I'm slightly apprehensive about telling 50+ older students what to do, but I'll get used to it (I hope).
